Store Mosse Nationalpark, STF Hostel

Address: Naturum, 33033 Hillerstorp  show map
Location: Gnosjö

Hostels | Store Mosse is a national park that comprises the largest untouched marshland south of Lappland. The park is 15 x 12 km in extent, and the vegetation here is similar to that of the wilderness of Norrland. The park offers more than 40 km of trails and boardwalks.

Our hostels are truly exotic, with no electricity or running water. What we do have, however, is firewood, an axe, and a chopping block. Water is fetched from a pump in the grounds.
Each bed is provided with mattress and pillow, but you must bring your own sleeping bag. And remember to bring matches, candles, a torch, or some other form of lamp.

You can choose between two buildings, Lövö and Svänö, when booking.
The hostels lie on a moraine hill, an island surrounded by lakes, bogs and sand dunes. No electricity or running water make this accommodation highly exotic. What we do have, however, is firewood, an axe, and a chopping block. Water is fetched from a pump in the grounds.

The hill is home to pollard limes and ash trees. This is a rich landscape of cultural heritage, and spring brings a myriad of beautiful flowers. Grouse are often heard “lekking” (mating display) in the spring, and can be seen along the road through the marsh.
